Democracy and Republic

1. Define democracy.
-Democracy is a type of government, which is ruled by a population of people. The people are put under a group of representatives, which are elected by the population. This is also when the population the population creates the government rules.

2. Define Republic.
- A Republican a government is a type of government, which rules alone without a population. The people elect the government but the government puts them under laws to control them, this really means that the government creates which is the opposite of republic where the people create rules.

3. Do you agree with this interpretation of what a democracy is as stated in the video?
- Yes, I find the interpretation in the video was clear and understandable. The video showed good strong, and simple examples of differences between Republic and Democracy. Finally concluding strongly that the United States is more of a republic and that democracy is almost non-existence in the nation.

4. Define constitutional monarchy.
- A constitutional monarchy is another type of government, which comes from an absolute monarchy. The difference between the two is that an absolute as no written constitution and is ruled by one, while the constitutional usually has a written constitution and is ruled by an adopted parliament.

Bahrain
No, Bahrain has a king making it a monarchy, however it has an adopted parliament. Also it is mainly shown to be a kingdom making democracy non-existence.
Canada
Yes, Canada shows to be democratic. The constitutional monarchy is very week in the nation. They have a prime minister elected by the people this makes it a democratic country. However the constitutional monarchy as more power on to the nation.
Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia is an absolute monarchy. There are no elections held what’s so ever. The monarchy system follows an old rule of passing the throne from brother to brother, or from father to son.
Sweden
No, Sweden has a very week democracy. It has shown some political parties involving them but Sweden has more if a written constitution but is also run by a king. Making it mainly a constitutional monarchy.



What I have learned? February 28, 2010
We had done today a introduction to what a government is, we had learned five terms, two of which I had already known about, Epidemic and wailing. I have learned what makeshift and Succumbed and a clearer understanding to GNP. I had learned them through the article that we read in class that had used them throughout the article.
